Greetings from Southwest Charters in 2008 !!! Please note: SARA Parks Guidelines PROHIBIT Public "Display" of alcohol and it's influence, in all parks!! Keep it covered or in a mug! Do to the economy's price increases and fuel, as of "1April 08" our rates are: ---- $240 half day (4 hours) per boat for up to 5 guests. ---- A Full day (8 hrs.) is twice ($480) the half day rate. ---- Trip Deposits are $120 per half day; by "cash, money order, or traveler's check" to secure that trip. Sorry, no checks or credit cards at this time. ---- Make "all" pay ables to: SW Charters, Box 421, Adkins, TX. 78101 ---- All deposits are weather refundable and/or with at least 7 days advance notice. You may have up to 5 people in your group, you bring food, drink, and license. License are readily available locally and on Texas Parks & Wildlife web page : (http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/annual/general/information/), by credit card. We also have a nice guest cabin available on our ranch, two miles from the lake (Calaveras), which is about 10 miles S.E. from down town San Antonio. Rates start at $80 per night for 1-4 clients, $25 for an extra person. Hope

Five warm water power plant lakes provide the only US freshwater red drum fishery. The current state record stands at 30lbs. 4 oz. from Braunig Lake, 15 minutes south of San Antonio. Lake Calaveras, just down the road from Braunig, is another local site for these freshwater racehorses known as redfish. The state stocks hundreds of thousands of juvenile reds each year.
